Breaking the Cycle:
Transforming Reentry for Stronger Communities

Reentry 2030 is a national movement driving meaningful reforms in how we support individuals returning to their communities after incarceration. By addressing barriers to employment, education, and housing, we aim to break the cycles of recidivism, homelessness, and hospitalization. Our goal is to shift the narrative of reentry success, providing evidence-based solutions while celebrating the progress and achievements of states reaching their goals.  Working to reform and reframe reentry empowers individuals to rebuild their lives, strengthens communities, and enhances public safety nationwide. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for reentry.

Pillars of Successful Reentry

We are committed to a future of reentry that is:

Human-centered

State-specific solutions incorporate the perspectives of people who have gone through reentry themselves, to make reentry less confusing and more effective.

Coordinated

Leaders and decision-makers at all levels embrace their roles as part of a comprehensive support system, to support reintegration and decrease fragmentation.

Transparent

States set public goals and metrics and report on progress regularly and consistently, to promote accountability and guide future plans.
